Penticton Lakeside Resort gets Approval to Expand.

Engineering work has started on the new hotel addition/expansion for the Penticton Lakeside Resort which was approved by City Council January 18.

Penticton_Lakeside_ResortThe $12 million project will add 70 high end rooms to the inventory and is expected to be completed early in 2017.

 

 

 

WestJet expands service to Penticton

WestJet’s second flight to Calgary from the Penticton Airport will embark Wednesday, February 17 and leave Penticton at 7 am. The morning flight is scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Calgary to Penticton second flight begins Tuesday, February 16 and embark at 8:45 pm. The regualar service will run every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Sears to still have a presence in Penticton.

Sears is closing their current location on Skaha Lake Road and moving downtown to open a Catalogue store at Pennyfarthing Gifts in the 300 block of Main Street. The pick-up and online ordering location will be operational by end of January.

Lakawanna Park Concession to be upgraded and expanded.

Gordon Ferguson negotiated a lease extension with the City and plans on upgrading the concession area to make it a signature of the Okanagan lakeshore. Seating will be added for patrons to enjoy the existing views and shade provided by the trees. No changes to the kiddies play area are planned.

Salty’s expands one more time.

Salty’s Beach House is currently closed while construction crews work on an expansion to the east part of the building. This follows up on the earlier expansion of the outdoor patio areas on both floors. Doors are set to re-open in late February 2016.
