WestJet alters evening flight to Penticton.

WestJet alters evening flight to Penticton.

WestJet Encore will be stopping its late evening – next morning three-time weekly flight at the end of April. When asked about the stop and uptake of the additional flight added last fall Lauren Stewart at WestJet media relations said “we have seen a slight shift from the daytime flight to the early morning flight however overall it has been new guest traffic. Over all we are hopeful that if the route returns, we see our guests in Penticton take advantage of the second flight more.”  Regarding the hopes of the flight starting again Stewart went on to say “WestJet evaluates all routes based on a variety of factors including ensuring we are meeting guests needs, maintaining profitable flying as well as supply and demand. In the end, we will evaluate the route and will make a decision that makes sense for both the guests in the community and our shareholders.”  There are no plans to add a larger aircraft to the existing seven day (mid afternoon flights).
